Proactive is one of those overused buzzwords. They have great meaning at first but then everyone latches on to it and suddenly it loses meaning.
Of course you want to be thought of being proactive and not reactive!
So we thought we would clear the slate, explain what Proactive means to us here at Underdog!
Let’s start with the definition of Proactive and Reactive. Proactive is handling an issue before it’s a problem. Reactive is responding to a problem after it has already happened.
Why are these 2 words so important in the world of technology and business? When you are reacting to a situation that has already happened. It means something is likely broken. It means someone is affected by the problem! In other words loss of productivity and loss of money!
What if you could prevent that problem from happening in the first place? Better yet, what if you could control when that situation will occur? That is what it means to being proactive!
I am not going to tell you being proactive means never being reactive. Unfortunately things do break unexpectedly and you need to react. If you are practicing being proactive, being reactive is less.
Ok, so what does Proactive mean to us here at Underdog Computer and Network Support?
If you are looking at the Graphic Above you will notice 2 numbers 8% and 22 Minutes. We keep a close watch on our KPI and strive for excellence to give the ultimate Customer Experience. Monthly we review our numbers to make sure we are doing what we promised!
over the last quarter our REACTIVE time per technician was 8% of their day! What does that mean? It means 8% of a technicians day is spent on fixing things that unexpectedly broke! 22 minutes is the average time it takes us to resolve those problems!
To break it down differently, less than an 1 hour a day is spent on fixing unexpected problems. Fixing those problems on average of 22 minutes
That means we have 7 hours a day to spend on being proactive. that is 7 hours spent on projects that help our clients be more productive. That is 7 hours a day heading off problems PROACTIVELY.
